Chicago White Sox Pitcher Jon Garland Going Home
Nov 20, 2007
Gold Glove shortstop Orlando Cabrera of the Los Angeles Angels was traded for White Sox pitcher Jon Garland on Monday. The trade means the White Sox will now have one of the best shortstops in the game, and the Angels will be adding some serious pitching depth. The trade also means Jon Garland will be heading home.
Garland, who was born in Valencia, California, bought a home in nearby Granada Hills in December of 2006. The newly-constructed home, located in the Aliso subdivision, offers 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and 5,664 square feet. Property records show that Garland paid just under $2.5 for the home. The Aliso community opened in 2005, and has a total of 45 homes.
Jon Garland played a key role in Chicago's 2005 World Series championship. That year Garland was 18-10 with a 3.50 ERA and had three shutouts. Those impressive stats earned Garland a trip to the All-Star game.
Garland also owns an apartment in Chicago worth roughly $300,000, which he purchased in the summer of 2003.

"The Big Ticket" Kevin Garnett's Big New Home
Nov 16, 2007
Kevin Garnett aka "The Big Ticket" has more than proven his worth to the Boston Celtics. The Celtics traded away an NBA record seven players to acquire Garnett from the Minnesota Timberwolves, and after seven games with his new team, the 6'11" forward and his fellow men in green are still undefeated.
It seems only right that a man known as "The Big Ticket" would quickly seize an opportunity to purchase a new crib befitting of his nickname. In early September, Garnett purchased a mammoth 8,000+ square foot home in Concord, MA. Built in 1992, the giant $4.7 million home has 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and sits on 13 acres.

Concord is located roughly 15 miles NW of Boston, and has a population of about about 17,000. Historic records indicate that the town officially came into existence in 1635, when a group of British settlers led by Reverend Peter Bulkley and Simon Willard negotiated a land purchase with the local Native-American tribe.
